Notes from Underground is a novel written by Fyodor Dostoevsky, published in the spring of 1864. The novel features a nameless character recounting life events and the state of society as he sees it. There is not much of a plot, thus the book becomes a vehicle that Dostoevsky uses to convey his philosophical beliefs.
